The Heat Is On

It's officially summer time here in the beautiful islands of the Philippines!
Classes are over, things get lighter,
fashion adds color, but it's getting hotter...
and the beach is the place to spot her...
=)

So here in these photos, we were at Palani Beach at Balud, Masbate. I love the peace and serenity of the place. I was able to relax and meditate. As what my husband Vince always tells me "Seeing the beauty of nature is like communing with God." Indeed, when I see His wonderful creations I'm awestruck! God is so great!  I feel so privileged to even be able to marvel at His glorious works.
I love you Lord! All praises to you Magnificent Most High! Thank you for everything!

Hat: Client's Gift; Top: Bazaar's; Skirt: Ria Alazas' Habibi Collection

By the way, the reason why we were at the Beach was because of Vince's cousin RJ Abelita Delmendo Lim's birthday. Apart from the food and swimming, there were fun games too as well as surprise gifts and prizes. Scholarship awards were also given to the lucky residents of Balud, Masbate. I felt so honored to be given the chance to pick some of the winners. This scholarship grant can be claimed from Southern Bicol Colleges. It's also the school where me and my husband teach Law. =)

It's really nice to be with family and relatives, as well as with true friends who care.
I thank you all for all the goodness you've shown to us! We can feel that and we are grateful, thank you!

Do you like my skirt? You can order that from my friend Ria Alazas here: RIA ALAZAS

Now I'd like to share with you this short poem I made today while meditating...

The Heat Is On
by Kaye Celera-Revil
(17 April 2012)

With all the heat that surround
Support from God is around
His love always abounds
The Lord's name resounds

Burning desire
Ignite me like fire
Oh give me the strength
To walk the path & the length

For the Heat is on
Morning & evening 'til dawn
Light & guide me oh Lord
That I may not go overboard

That despite it all
 Faith not to stall
But stand still and uphill
Reveal to my heart your will.

God bless us all!

FOLLOW ME...

You might be thinking "why should I follow you?".  I know, I'm no celebrity...
nor am I great person...

One thing I'm sure about myself is that- I'm a sincere woman with a faithful heart for God.
I'm passionate about Him and of all the things he has given me, including first and foremost my family. =)
I'm a mother of four and a wife to a loving man.
I'm also a starting lawyer in this beautiful budding Province of Masbate in the Rodeo and Cattle Capital of the Philippines!
I know that I still have a long way to go, but I'm taking it one step at a time. Somehow, I think that I'm already living the life that God intended for me and blogging is among the many ways by which I share to people the beauty that life beholds when God is with us.

We may be Facebook friends or even family, but you might not really know me that much.
So if you think you'd like to know me more, especially why I think the way I think or why I am the way that I am- feeling all blessed and that by our loving Father God,
or simply because you want to be my friend or interact with me
or that you want to also teach me or share some stuff to me...
Do join me in my journey...
and let's learn from each other.
Hence, I said "Follow me..."

So this particular post focuses on my Boys! =)

Yes, I'm a mom of two boys! To be that has its perks other than the fulfillment of the essence of being a woman.

Look at them, don't they just love me? =) Hehe, I feel like their queen. (This is of course until they meet their special someone someday. I have a sweet and loving mother-in-law, so I'm just gonna be like her, that I promise. Lol.)

Being a mother to boys, opens up my understanding to the other gender. I get to learn their attitude and the way that they think somehow. (More on this in my next posts) =)

Now, meet the man they call "Dad"- my husband. These are some of his activities for the week.

He is Past President of the Rotary Club of Masbate (2004). The present is usually shaped up through it's past. So I say, how he handled it before is also what is being passed on as a legacy to the next leaders of this prestigious socio-civic organization. What I like most about his leadership during that time, apart from it's focus on extending service to others was that he would usually involve the wives and the children of their members. It's been very family-oriented and that has been the unwritten rule until these days.
As we know, the family is the basic social institution, it being the melting pot of values, character and even education. Being that, no less than our Constitution decrees its protection.  We, as citizens must also value and protect our families. It is not just for our own sake and our children, but it is also for the good of our country.
I'm proud that my husband is a family man who loves the Philippines, most especially our Province of Masbate!
I've always been the #1 fan of Vince Revil! I'm his life's cheerleader! =) That's what women are, we are the best supporters men can ever have, so once they have us, they better take care of us too, right? Lol.
Girl power is here! I'm a women's rights advocate by the way.
I'll post more on that too, soon.

In this one, he was a speaker for this Forum for the Business Sector on employment benefits for the labor force. Being in business ourselves, we really promote the welfare of our employees too. Necessary benefits such as SSS, Philhealth and Pag-ibig coverage- we give to our people. These do not preclude leave benefits (sick leave, maternity leave, etc.) and other bonuses that we graciously give too.
Employee-employer relationship becomes blissful once due respect and regard is mutual.

Now to my fashion blogging...

Liceo De Masbate's 64th Foundation Anniversary: Dekada Saysayan

Liceo De Masbate celebrated it's 64th Foundation Anniversary with a series of fun and meaningful activities. Here in this post is that of its culminating event "Dekada Saysayan"(Decades Foretold), a night of fashion, glamour and extravaganza.

To avoid reprimand from the Philippine Bloggers Directory, for which this blog is under the Beauty and Fashion Category, allow me to post my outfit shots. =)

So this is me. I was told to dress in the 1980s fashion to support the College I am teaching in their entry to the contest.

I am not so much of an 80s fan, when it comes to style, so this is only what I've got in my closet for it. =)

I actually researched online and I learned that 80s fashion included, oversized tops, leathers and bright colors. So what do you think about my look? 80s enough, right? =)

Ok, done with my fashion blogging, here's now a sneak peek to the event...

As with most formal programs, it started off with these...

Then the Contest Criteria was given and the panel of judges introduced.

Then the contest proper...

I really enjoyed watching the presentations. The music from the past brought me back some memories. I was partly drifting while watching. I remembered the songs we used to dance during my childhood, I even remembered suddenly the themed parties that we had in our family where we did a lot of fashion shows and modeling among ourselves. Then in my teens were my MTV and Channel V hooked up days. Next would be some of those tunes which I heard often during special events that happened to me, like the dance songs at the place where I first met my husband Vince (<--click his name if you want to get to know him more). Then I felt the adrenaline rush upon hearing the upbeat songs that I used to listen to during studying for the bar exams. I really liked listening to fast beat music while studying then so to keep up with the adrenaline rush, hence the 2000s song really relate a lot to me.

Music, for me is an experience. The lyrics and tunes of a song may appear the same, but the memories that it bring to people definitely make a difference. Different emotions are evoked as well.

I've relived my memories in this event. Got really nostalgic for the most part. =)

Next was the Speech and Acknowledgment Message by no other than...

While the ratings were being tabulated, there were...

Finally, the announcement of...

And as with any event, it won't be complete without the...

I had a great time here. Apart from being entertained, I had some good realizations, ergo:

That my past has been an integral part of who I am today;
That the preparations I made before are paying off for me now;
That the learnings I've gained from the past I must bring to the present and even to the future, but it need not beholden me to past mistakes and learn to move on and accept God's grace;
That despite human effort, things might still be uncertain and we are always at risk.
There's one thing though that I know that is consistent and constant apart from change:
That God is God. He was and is and is to come. His love is all that we ever need.

I thank the Lord for everything in my life. From all the blessings, the learnings and all the chances and most especially the grace He has given me. I claim it for you too! If you are reading this right now, be blessed, God loves you! =)

Once again, Happy Anniversary Liceo De Masbate, I am really happy to be part of you!!!
(as a Professor in the College of Education, teaching Economics, Taxation and Land Reforms)

God bless the generations, God bless His people!

Msgr. Caluya's Birthday & Liceo De Masbate Gift Giving

As a professor in the College Department of the Liceo De Masbate, I was given the privilege to join a worthy occasion that is the Gift Giving Activity of the institution whose recipients were the different barangays of the City of Masbate.  This activity was spearheaded by no other than Msgr. Claro Caluya, the President of the school who also celebrated his birthday a day after the activity.

My face beamed with excitement as I was told by Mr. Amican that by being a professor, I am automatically helping out as my contribution will just be deducted from my salary. =) I know in my heart that it is a noble cause and I am privileged to be even given the chance to participate.

"Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously. Each man should give what he has decided in his heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver."-2 Cor 9:6-7

Here are the photos...

Msgr. Caluya with the recipients of the gift-giving activity.
There was a presentation of the Nativity (birth of Jesus Christ-the very reason why we celebrate Christmas).

Food was served by Jollibee (the all time kids' favorite).

Games were held too and prizes were given.

Me with Msgr. Caluya and Fr. Canete.

A mother recipient of the gift-giving telling about how thankful she is with the activity.

A photo ops together with the Liceans

our beloved children from different barangays of the City of Masbate

some of my fellow Faculty members and the gift packs
with my former Grade School teacher Mrs. Myrna SD. Garcia, now my fellow Professor. =) But she will always be my mentor, whom I'm grateful for believing in my capabilities and encouraging me to be the best that I can be always. =)

Msgr. after giving his speech led the group into singing "Salamat sa Diyos" (Thanks be to God).

Indeed, thanks be to God!

I definitely went home with a big smile on my face and with joy in my heart. =)

The next day was Msgr. Caluya's birthday and again I was privileged to have been part of the celebration.

Photos hereunder...

The first person I saw was Ma'am Ponferrada, my Pre-School Teacher and sister of Msgr. Caluya.

This is Msgr. Caluya, the birthday celebrant.

together with his sister

This is a special gift from the Liceo De Masbate Family.

Aside from that, each department, including ours (College Department) also presented a number. Ours was a fashion show and a dance number. =)

There was also a presentation from the Administrators themselves which included the celebrant.

Food was absolutely sumptuous and this is my plate. Had it to the full and finished it all. =)

Privileged to be seated at the same table with the celebrant too.

Thought that with a photo opportunity with the Celebrant, the night is already complete, but guess what? To my surprise, he told me that he has a gift for the Professors too and that I should get mine before I leave!

Tadahhh... a Christmas Bonus and my salary given by no other than City Councilor Bing Sanchez-Morano, also an administrator of the school.
Definitely happy and fulfilled. =)

To all of these, I thank God first and foremost and to the Liceo De Masbate family, most especially to our President Msgr. Boy Caluya, I am so proud of you!!!
Together with my husband, Vince Revil and our children and the Gerona and Celera families, we wish you a happy happy birthday!!!

God bless and More Power!

Lovelots,

Kaye Celera-Revil
